Eat Your Bourbon: Summer Tailgate

Touring: The Koji Room

Once a month, Bourbon Barrel Foods hosts Eat Your Bourbon cooking classes. The purpose of these classes is the educate the public on how to use Bourbon Barrel Foods’ products in unique and transformative ways with simple and easily replicated recipes.

For the first time, Matt, founder and owner of Bourbon Barrel Foods, lead the Eat Your Bourbon class. Guests enjoyed a tour, a demo, and a sampling of all of the recipes.

Matt’s creative menu included essentials for the perfect summer picnic or tailgate:

Summer Champagne Cocktail made with Woodford Reserve® Mint Julep Simple Syrup and Woodford Reserve® Sassafras and Sorghum Bitters.

Bourbon Punch: Kentucky’s version of the classic Hurricane. It is made with Jack Rudy’s Grenadine, Woodford Reserve® Sassafras and Sorghum Bitters, and Woodford Reserve® Cherries.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Summer Cole Slaw made with grilled Napa cabbage and radicchio, fresh herbs, and Woodford Reserve® Sorghum Vinaigrette.

Grilled vegetables with Bourbon Smoked Spices.

Matt’s version of the traditional Korean dish, Kentuckyaki Picnic Style Ribs, call for Kentuckyaki, Kentucky’s version of teriyaki sauce.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken made with Woodford Reserve® Chef’s Blend and house-made buttermilk dressing and house made sriracha.

The coziness of the Kitchen Studio was perfect for the family-style dining guests enjoyed. There were several returning Kitchen Studio guests and some new, but everyone mingled and enjoyed a night of delicious food.
