Blueberry Bourbon Cardamom Jam is produced in small batches by Joyce and Charlie of Friends Drift Inn in Pikeville, Kentucky. Made with Kentucky’s premier organic blueberries grown by Brushcreek Berries, this jam has the perfect balance of bourbon and cardamom spice to enhance the natural flavors of the blueberries. Recipe for Bourbon Barrel Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
- 1 bag Bourbon Barrel Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
- 1/2 cup butter or shortening
- 3/4 cup buttermilk or milk
Blend butter into the mix with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture reaches crumb consistency. Blend in milk to make a dough. Knead lightly, to mix only. On a floured surface, roll out dough 1/2 inch thick, and cut into 2 1/2 inch discs. Bake biscuits on a greased pan at 400-degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.
Yields: 12 -13 Biscuits
For Cheddar Biscuits, add 6 oz shredded cheddar cheese to prepared dough.
Ingredients: Unbleached wheat flour, baking powder (sodium acid, pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, corn starch, monocalcium phosphate), evaporated cane sugar, salt.
