1 large piece of ginger, peeled and rough chopped
2 c water
2 c Bourbon Vanilla Sugar
1 tsp Chinese Five Spice
1 TBS Bourbon Madagascar Vanilla Extract
Juice from one lime
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Put ginger in the water, and let the mixture boil for 5-10 minutes. Take the ginger water off the burner, and let it sit covered for an hour. Strain the pieces of ginger out of the mixture. Add in Bourbon Vanilla Sugar, lime juice, Bourbon Vanilla Extract, and five spice. Simmer until the mixture turns into a simple syrup. Strain the mixture again, and let it chill in the refrigerator for several hours. Serve over ice with sparkling water. Garnish with a lime wedge.
