Commitment to Web Accessibility for All

At Bourbon Barrel Foods, we believe that the internet should be available and accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing a website that’s accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of their abilities or circumstances.

To achieve this goal, we strictly follow the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We use a variety of technologies to make our website as accessible as possible. Our accessibility interface enables users with specific disabilities to customize the website’s design and user interface to their unique needs.

Furthermore, our website utilizes an AI-based application that continuously optimizes its accessibility level. This application adapts the website’s HTML to make it more user-friendly for screen-readers used by blind users and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

If you have any suggestions or concerns about our website’s accessibility, please don’t hesitate to contact us at emily@bourbonbarrelfoods.com or 502-333-6103. We’re always open to feedback and eager to improve.

Enhanced User Accessibility with Multiple Website Modes
For those with specific accessibility requirements, website design can be challenging. Our site is designed with a range of different modes that cater to a variety of needs. Take a look:

    • Epilepsy Safe Mode: This profile is for those with epilepsy, as it removes the risk of flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations that can trigger seizures.
    • Visually Impaired Mode: This mode is for users with visual impairments such as tunnel vision, degrading eyesight, cataract, glaucoma, and more. It adjusts the website to suit the user’s needs.
    • Cognitive Disability Mode: This mode offers a range of assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as autism, dyslexia, CVA, and others, to focus on essential website elements more easily.
    • ADHD Friendly Mode: This mode is designed to help users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the primary website elements while reducing distractions.
    • Blindness Mode: This mode is compatible with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack, enabling blind users to navigate through the site with ease.
    • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): This profile allows those with motor impairments to use the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and Enter keys. Users can also take advantage of shortcuts like “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to access specific elements.

UI, Design, and Readability Adjustments

    1. Font adjustments – Users can modify the font size, family, spacing, alignment, line height, and more to suit their preferences.
    2. Color adjustments – Users can choose from various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, they can switch color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds from over 7 different coloring options.
    3. Animations – For users who experience epileptic seizures, we have provided a “stop” button to prevent all running animations. Animations governed by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
    4. Content highlighting – Users can highlight important elements such as links and titles. They can also opt to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
    5. Audio muting – We understand that users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
    6. Cognitive disorders – Our search engine is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
    7. Additional functions – Users can also change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions to make their browsing experience more comfortable.
