Togarashi Caramel Corn

Caramel corn is one of our all-time favorite treats here at the Bourbon Barrel Foods headquarters. We spice up our popcorn daily with Bourbon Smoked Sugars, Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt, and Bourbon Smoked Togarashi almost daily. When we are feeling in need of an extra special sweet treat we make Bourbon Barrel Togarashi Caramel Corn. The whole office will come running for a handful!   This recipe uses a few of our signature spices making this popcorn treat next-level delicious. Togarashi Caramel Corn

Deliciously snackable caramel corn.

  • Cooking spray
  • 4 quarts popcorn (freshly popped)
  • 1 cup Bourbon Smoked Sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1/2 tsp Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Bourbon Smoked Togarashi
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

  2. Line two large rimmed baking sheets with foil and spray with cooking spray.

  3. Place popcorn in a large mixing bowl and set aside

  4. Mix Bourbon Smoked Sugar, corn syrup, butter and Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt in a large saucepan.

  5. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking to combine.

  6. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes without stirring.

  7. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla. 

  8. Carefully pour over popcorn, stirring to coat evenly.

  9. Sprinkle Bourbon Smoked Togarashi over popcorn.

  10. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally 

  11. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. 

  12. Popcorn keeps for 4-5 days in an airtight container.
