Frankfort Avenue, The Avenue, is located in the historic Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It's fun, restaurant and boutique dense, and the home Bourbon Barrel Foods' flagship store and Eat Your Bourbon Marketplace. This cocktail is a take on The Manhattan – Kentucky-style.
In this recipe, we wanted to think outside of the Manhattan's traditional Cherry flavor profile, and immediately, Kentucky's native fruit, the persimmon, came to mind. Kentucky persimmons peak in the fall. They're sweet, rich with honey-like flavor, making for a great accompaniment to a spirit like Bourbon. Cozy-up to Autumn on The Avenue by the fire, or feature this cocktail at your next dinner party - like Thanksgiving.
