Bourbon Barrel Foods is Japan

We are excited to announce that our very own Matt Jamie will be featured in a prime time Japanese television show, Sugoi Desune Shisatsudan on March 26th! Matt traveled to Japan and worked exclusively with Toshio Shinko of Yuasa Soy Sauce in Wakayama, Japan, the birth place of soy sauce. Shinko and his family have been brewing soy sauce for 130 years and have been awarded Best Soy Sauce in the World 6 times.

Learning that Bluegrass Soy Sauce is made the same way as a 130 year old business is truly humbling. We have established our own style with using barrels and limestone filtered water, but the history of making soy sauce is still the same and we are proud to make Bluegrass Soy Sauce in Kentucky.
