Sweet and Bourbon Spiced Kettle Corn
Enjoy this classic fall treat in a new way! Bourbon Smoked Spices and Bourbon Smoked Sugar add layers of flavor to this after school or party snack.
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 cup unpopped popcorn
3 Tbsp. Bourbon Smoked Sugar
1 tsp. Bourbon Smoked Salt, ground
1 tsp. Bourbon Smoked Pepper, ground
1/2 tsp. Bourbon Smoked Paprika
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp. ground cayenne
Have a large paper grocery bag or baking sheet handy. Heat vegetable oil in a Dutch oven on medium heat. Put two or three kernels in the oil. When they pop, add the butter.Stir butter so that it doesn’t burn. Immediately add the popcorn (it is ok if the butter isn’t completely melted). Add the sugar immediately after adding the butter. Cover the Dutch oven and shake it back and forth over the burner to prevent burning.When there is a 2 second pause between popcorn popping sounds, pour the popcorn into the bag or baking sheet. Add the rest of the spices. Let cool for a few minutes.
